Salah satu jenis fobia yang cukup banyak dialami yaitu fobia air\u00a0<em>(phobia<\/em>\u00a0air)<em>.<\/em><\/p>\n<h2>Apa itu fobia air?<\/h2>\n<p>Fobia air atau yang disebut juga dengan\u00a0<em>aquaphobia<\/em>\u00a0adalah ketakutan yang berlebihan dan tidak masuk akal terhadap air. Namun, biasanya tidak semua orang memiliki jenis ketakutan yang sama.<\/p>\n<p>Sebagian orang hanya takut pada air yang dalam atau ombak yang besar, sementara sebagian lainnya mungkin takut saat melihat air yang terkumpul dalam wadah seperti kolam renang atau bak mandi. Selain itu, sebagian orang yang memiliki\u00a0<em>aquaphobia<\/em>\u00a0mungkin benar-benar takut untuk terkena air bahkan jika hanya melihat genangan air di jalanan atau terciprat air.<\/p>\n<h2>Berbagai gejala fobia air<\/h2>\n<p>Pada orang yang punya\u00a0<em>phobia\u00a0<\/em>air, berhadapan dengan air menimbulkan ketakutan tersendiri. Namun, biasanya orang memiliki\u00a0<em>aquaphobia<\/em>\u00a0menyadari rasa takut ini sebetulnya tidak masuk akal. Selain itu, seseorang yang mengalami\u00a0<em>phobia<\/em>\u00a0air akan mengalami berbagai gejala umum seperti:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Perasaan takut, cemas, dan panik berlebih saat membayangkan air.<\/li>\n<li>Rasa takut yang berlebihan dan tidak masuk akal saat terkena air.<\/li>\n<li>Sangat menghindari air dan segala aktivitas yang berkaitan dengan air.<\/li>\n<li>Berkeringat.<\/li>\n<li>Jantung berdebar-debar.<\/li>\n<li>Dada sesak dan sulit bernapas.<\/li>\n<li>Mual.<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: left;\">Pusing atau pingsan.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Kenapa seseorang bisa fobia air?<\/h2>\n<p>Dikutip dari\u00a0Verywell Mind, penyebab\u00a0<em>phobia<\/em>\u00a0air yang paling umum ialah adanya pengalaman buruk hingga trauma tentang air di masa lalu. Selain itu, ada beberapa bukti yang menunjukkan bahwa fobia dapat diwariskan secara genetik. Jika ada riwayat keluarga yang memiliki fobia, maka Anda berisiko juga terhadap fobia.<\/p>\n<h2>Mengatasi fobia air<\/h2>\n<p>Karena\u00a0<em>aquaphobia<\/em>\u00a0termasuk ke dalam fobia spesifik, umumnya ada dua bentuk psikoterapi yang biasa digunakan yaitu terapi pemaparan (<em>exposure therapy<\/em>) dan\u00a0terapi perilaku kognitif.<\/p>\n<p>Terapi paparan (<em>exposure therapy<\/em>) dilakukan dengan terus memberikan sumber ketakutan Anda, yaitu air. Saat Anda diberikan pancingan berupa air, terapis akan melacak reaksi, pikiran, perasaan, dan sensasi Anda untuk membantu mengelola kecemasan. Terapis bisa saja menyuruh Anda untuk mengisi bak mandi dengan air, dan meminta Anda untuk bermain di pantai.<\/p>\n<p>Sementara terapi perilaku kognitif alias CBT (<em>cognitive behavioral therapy<\/em>) adalah terapi yang dilakukan dengan menantang pemikiran serta keyakinan Anda terhadap air. Ketika Anda belajar menantang ketakutan, Anda akan mencari tahu bagaimana mengatasi pola pikir dan keyakinan terhadap air yang selama ini membuat Anda begitu takut. Terapi ini juga mengajarkan Anda untuk mengendalikan pikiran negatif tentang air dengan pikiran dan pesan yang jauh lebih positif.
