Padahal, mitos yang dipercaya masyarakat belum tentu benar.<\/p>\n<p>Setidaknya ada lima mitos populer tentang susu yang dipaparkan spesialis gizi klinis, dr. Diana F Suganda, M.Kes, Sp. GK dalam acara diskusi MilkVersation di FX Sudirman, Jakarta, Rabu (15\/5\/2019). Berikut lima mitos tentang susu yang masih dipercaya masyarakat.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Susu hanya untuk anak<\/strong><br \/>\nFaktanya, anak-anak memang membutuhkan kalsium dari susu untuk pertumbuhan tulang dan gigi. Namun, orang dewasa pun tetap membutuhkan kalsium. Berdasarkan angka kecukupan gizi (AKG) yang dikeluarkan oleh Permenkes RI No. 75\/2013, usia dewasa membutuhkan asupan kalsium 1.000\u20141.200 mg per hari. Memang, kalsium bisa digantikan dari sumber-sumber lain seperti ikan teri, brokoli, dan sayuran hijau gelap lainnya.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNamun menurut penelitian pada responden dewasa, bila produk susu digantikan dengan sumber kalsium lain, ternyata asupan nutrisi harian lainnya jadi berkurang. Asupan nutrisi jadi kurang protein, kalium, magnesium, fosfor riboflavin, vitamin A, dan vitamin B12. Kalsiumnya sih terganti, tapi nutrisi yang lain tidak dapat,\u201d ujar dr. Diana F. Suganda, M.Kes, Sp.GK.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Susu hanya baik untuk kesehatan tulang<\/strong><br \/>\nSusu memang sumber kalsium yang sangat baik. Namun kandungan nutrisi dalam susu bukan hanya kalsium, sehingga manfaat susu pun tidak sebatas kesehatan tulang. Ini karena susu mengandung kalium dan magnesium, yang membantu mengontrol tekanan darah.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPenelitian yang dipublikasi di Journal of American College of Nutrition (2009) menyebutkan, konsumsi susu yang disertai dengan diet rendah garam bisa membantu menurunkan tekanan darah pada penderita hipertensi,\u201d ujar dr. Diana. Hipertensi merupakan faktor risiko untuk terjadinya penyakit kardiovaskular seperti serangan jantung dan stroke.<br \/>\n<strong>Baca Juga:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nawacita.co\/index.php\/2019\/05\/03\/konsumsi-es-krim-nanas-bermanfaat-untuk-kesehatan\/\">Konsumsi Es Krim Nanas Bermanfaat Untuk Kesehatan<\/a><\/strong><br \/>\nPenelitian lain dari Journal of Clinical Nutrition (2015) dilakukan pada orang lanjut usia (65 tahun ke atas). \u201cTernyata, mereka yang rutin minum susu memiliki antioksidan glutathione yang lebih tinggi pada otak,\u201d ucap dr. Diana.<\/p>\n<p>Glutathione adalah antioksidan yang berperan penting melindungi otak dari ROS (reactive oxygen species) dan radikal bebas yang bisa merusak sel-sel otak dan menyebabkan stres oksidatif. ROS dan radikal bebas yang menumpuk di otak berhubungan dengan penyakit yang memengaruhi fungsi otak seperti Parkinson, Alzheimer, dan dimensia.<br \/>\n<strong><br \/>\n3. Susu bikin gemuk<\/strong><br \/>\n\u201cYang bikin gemuk itu total asupan harian yang melebihi kebutuhan,\u201d kata dr. Diana. Susu memang mengandung lemak, tapi berdasarkan penelitian di International Journal of Obesity (2004), kandungan kalsium dan protein dalam susu justru dapat membantu penurunan berat badan pada orang dewasa yang obesitas.<\/p>\n<p>Pada penelitian tersebut, responden dibagi menjadi dua kelompok. Keduanya sama-sama mendapat diet rendah kalori. Namun satu kelompok mendapat diet rendah kalsium (400\u2014500 mg\/hari), sedangkan kelompok lain mendapat asupan tinggi kalsium (1.000\u20141.200 mg\/hari). \u201cKelompok yang mendapat tinggi kalsium kehilangan berat badan, lemak tubuh, dan lemak abdominal secara signifikan dibanding kelompok rendah kalsium,\u201d paparnya.<\/p>\n<p><strong>4. Susu menyebabkan diare<\/strong><br \/>\nSebuah meta analisis dari 21 penelitian yang dipublikasi di Journal of Nutrition tahun 2006, membandingkan efek susu dengan placebo pada individu tanpa gangguan pencernaan. Ternyata ditemukan bahwa laktosa bukan penyebab masalah atau gejala saluran cerna seperti diare. Ada banyak penyebab diare, salah satunya karena infeksi atau iritasi. \u201cProduk susu yang difermentasi justru bisa digunakan untuk terapi diare,\u201d ucap dr. Pada orang dengan kondisi ini, minum susu dengan segala rasa maupun produk susu lainnya, kecuali yogurt bisa menimbulkan diare.<\/p>\n<p><strong>5. Hanya jenis susu tertentu yang baik untuk tubuh<\/strong><br \/>\nBanyak yang menghindari susu full cream dan lebih memilih susu skim atau susu rendah lemak. \u201cJustru dari penelitian Skandinavian Journal of Primary Health 2013, susu full cream membuat kita lebih kenyang sehingga asupan yang lain berkurang,\u201d kata dr. Diana.
