Penelitian teranyar menunjukkan, tidur yang tak berkualitas dapat meningkatkan risiko menumpuknya plak dalam tubuh.<\/p>\n<p>Tak hanya di jantung, plak yang dikenal dengan sebutan <em>aterosklerosis <\/em>ini juga merusak pembuluh darah arteri. <em>Aterosklerosis <\/em>sendiri terjadi saat plak menumpuk pada dinding arteri. Peningkatan plak dapat meningkatkan risiko stroke, masalah pencernaan, mati rasa, serta penyakit jantung.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Ini adalah studi pertama yang menunjukkan bahwa tidur yang diukur secara objektif terkait dengan aterosklerosis di seluruh tubuh,&#8221; kata peneliti dari USDA Human Nutrition Research Center on Aging di Tufts University, Massachusetts, Amerika Serikat, Josse Ordovas dalam sebuah pernyataan, dikutip dari <em>CNN<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Studi yang dipublikasikan di jurnal <em>American College of Cardiology <\/em>menganalisis 4 ribu wanita dan pria Spanyol dengan rata-rata usia 46 tahun. Semua partisipan tak pernah punya riwayat penyakit jantung.<\/p>\n<p>Setiap partisipan memakai <em>actigraph<\/em>, perangkat kecil yang mengukur panjang dan kualitas tidur selama tujuh malam. Kualitas tidur ditentukan oleh seberapa sering bangun dan bergerak selama fase tidur.<\/p>\n<p>Setiap orang juga mengikuti pemeriksaan CT <em>scan<\/em> dan USG 3D jantung pada awal dan akhir penelitian.
