{"id":49390,"date":"2019-01-11T10:00:40","date_gmt":"2019-01-11T03:00:40","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/nawacita.co\/?p=49390"},"modified":"2019-01-11T10:00:40","modified_gmt":"2019-01-11T03:00:40","slug":"profesor-uns-teliti-alternatif-surfaktan-ramah-lingkungan","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nawacita.co\/index.php\/2019\/01\/11\/profesor-uns-teliti-alternatif-surfaktan-ramah-lingkungan\/","title":{"rendered":"Profesor UNS Teliti Alternatif Surfaktan Ramah Lingkungan"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>SOLO<a href=\"https:\/\/nawacita.co\"> Nawacita<\/a> &#8211; Guru Besar Ilmu Kimia Organik Fakultas Matematika dan Ilmu Pengetahuan Alam (FMIPA) Universitas Sebelas Maret (UNS) Solo, Venty Suryanti, melakukan penelitian untuk mencari alternatif surfaktan yang ramah lingkungan. Surfaktan banyak digunakan sebagai bahan pengemulsi (emulsifier), bahan pembasah (<em>wetting agent<\/em>) dan bahan pelarut (<em>solubilizing agent<\/em>) dalam berbagai produk, seperti makanan\/minuman, deterjen, kosmetik dan farmasi.<\/p>\n<p>Hasil penelitian tersebut dibawakan dalam pidato pengukuhan Venty sebagai Guru Besar di Auditorium UNS, Kamis (10\/1) dengan judul\u00a0<em>Sintesis Biosurfaktan Menggunakan Substrat dari Bahan yang Dapat Diperbarui (Renewable) dan Aplikasinya.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Venty menjelaskan, surfaktan ditambahkan untuk bisa menyampurkan dua larutan yang berbeda fasa contohnya minyak dan air. Biasanya surfaktan yang dipakai bersifat sintesis berasal dari bahan produk turunan minyak bumi.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Jika sudah disitensis menjadi surfaktan sifatnya tidak bisa terurai secara alami. Lama-lama akan mengakibatkan pencemaran lingkungan,&#8221; kata dia, kepada wartawan.<\/p>\n<p>Venty bersama beberapa rekannya dan dibantu mahasiswa mencoba mensistesis surfaktan yang ramah lingkungan atau biasa disebut biosurfaktan. Biosurfaktan bersifat\u00a0<em>biodegradable<\/em>\u00a0atau bisa terdegradasi secara alami di lingkungan.<\/p>\n<p>Kelebihan lainnya, bisa disintesis dari bahan yang dapat diperbaharui. Proses sintesis bisa memanfaatkan karbohidrat, lemak dan protein untuk sintesisasi.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Selain itu bisa disitesis dari limbah agroindustri misalnya limbah industrri tepung tapioka dan limbah tahu. Karena limbah agroindustri masih mengandung karbohidrat dan protein yang bisa dimanfaatkan untuk pertumbuhan bakteri,&#8221; kata dia.<\/p>\n<p>Selain bisa memanfaatkan limbahnya, juga bisa meminimalisasi pencemaran akibat limbah tersebut. Sebab, biasanya, limbah industri tepung tapioka dan tahu semi industri rumah tangga banyak yang dibuang di perairan sekitar lingkungan.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam penelitiannya, Venty dan rekan-rekannya sudah bisa mensistesis biosurfaktan dari berbagai minyak nabati seperti minyak kedelai dan minyak kelapa sawit (CPO). Menurutnya, bahan yang tepat sebagai biosurfaktan untuk Indonesia adalah minyak kepala sawit. Sebab, Indonesia telah membatasi jumlah ekspor minyak CPO mentah.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, Venty dan rekan-rekannya juga mensitensis dari limbah tepung tapioka, dan limbah cair tahu. Hasilnya, dia mendapatkan kondisi optimal untuk sintesis tersebut. Dia juga telah melakukan karakterisasi sifat biosurfaktan dan kemungkinan aplikasi untuk industri.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Aplikasi biosurfaktan banyak sekali. Dia bisa menggantikan posisi surfaktan yang tidak degradable bisa sebagai pengemulsin untuk industri makanan, minuman, kosmetik, farmasi dan lainnya,&#8221; imbuh Venty.<\/p>\n<p>Selain itu, biosurfaktan juga bisa dikembangkan untuk pengolahan limbah di lingkungan. Sehingga bisa untuk meminimalisasi pencemaran lingkungan yang biasa disebabkan senyawa mikroorganik yang sulit terurai di lingkungan alami. Caranya dengan menambahkan biosurfaktan bisa mempercepat degradasi di alam.
