Helmin Agustina Silalahi mengatakan, tomat mengandung phytokimia yang baik, seperti karotenoid, lycopene,beta karoten, senyawa pro-vitamin A, phytoene, dan phytofluene semuanya ditemukan dalam jumlah besar.<\/p>\n<p>Kandungan flavonoid tomat juga tinggi. Tomat mengandung lebih banyak jumlah alpha-tocopherol dan vitamin C jika dibandingkan dengan sayuran populer lainnya. Phytokimia tomat ini diduga berkontribusi mengurangi risiko penyakit kardiovaskular dan kanker prostat (memperlambat timbulnya penyakit dan dapat berperan dalam pencegahan).<br \/>\nSementara wortel pertama kali digunakan untuk tujuan medis dan secara bertahap digunakan sebagai makanan. Popularitas wortel oranye semakin meningkat dengan penemuan kandungan provitamin yang tinggi.<\/p>\n<p>Kandungan karotenoid dan anthocyanin sebagai pigmen antioksidan utama yang ditemukan dalam wortel tinggi akan \u03b1- dan \u03b2-karoten yang merupakan kaya provitamin A dan serat. Wortel juga memiliki kombinasi unik dari tiga flavonoid yakni kaempferol, quercetin dan luteolin.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kandungan nutrisi yang sedemikian banyak menyebabkan wortel memiliki efek antioksidan, anticarcinogens, immunoenhancers, Anti-Diabetes, Kolesterol dan Penyakit Kardiovaskular, Anti-Hipertensi, dan lain-lain.
