Bohl<\/h1>\n<p><strong>Jakarta, <a href=\"http:\/\/Nawacita.co\">Nawacita<\/a><\/strong>.\u00a0 \u2014 Harga tanah di Jakarta kian melambung tinggi, terutama di kawasan elite Sudirman Central Business District (SCBD) yang kini menembus angka fantastis, Rp200-300 juta per meter persegi. Namun, siapa sangka, jauh sebelum kawasan ini dipenuhi gedung pencakar langit, ada seorang tuan tanah Belanda yang pernah menguasai ribuan hektar lahan di jantung Ibu Kota.<\/p>\n<p>Namanya J.M.L. Bohl, seorang imigran asal Belanda yang datang ke Batavia (sekarang Jakarta) sekitar tahun 1864 saat masih berusia 16 tahun. Berbekal tekad dan kerja keras di perusahaan dagang Pitcairn Syaae &amp; Co., Bohl mampu mengumpulkan cukup modal untuk membeli lahan di dua lokasi strategis: Senayan dan Matraman.<\/p>\n<p>Menurut laporan harian kolonial <em>Het Nieuws van den Dag voor Nederlandsch-Indie<\/em> edisi 19 Juni 1920, Bohl menjadi tuan tanah atas lebih dari 1.000 hektar lahan di Senayan dan 400 hektar di Matraman. Di Senayan, tanahnya dimanfaatkan sebagai kebun kelapa dan sawah yang nilainya saat itu mencapai 36.000 gulden\u2014jumlah yang sangat besar pada masanya.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Baca Juga :\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/nawacita.co\/index.php\/2021\/11\/17\/menko-airlangga-bahas-investasi-saat-bertemu-mendag-belanda\/\">Menko Airlangga Bahas Investasi saat Bertemu Mendag Belanda<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSetelah bekerja, dia beralih membeli tanah, dan di usia muda dia sudah menjadi tuan tanah atas Matraman dan Sinajan, dekat Paal Merah,\u201d tulis surat kabar tersebut.<\/p>\n<p>Tak hanya sebagai pemilik tanah, Bohl juga sempat mencicipi panggung politik. Ia terdaftar sebagai anggota dewan kota mewakili daerah Meester Cornelis (kini Jatinegara) seperti dicatat <em>De Locomotief<\/em> pada 21 Agustus 1908. Di Matraman, ia bahkan memiliki kediaman mewah lengkap dengan taman dan puluhan ekor rusa.<\/p>\n<p>Namun, kehidupan pribadi Bohl tetap menjadi misteri. <em>Bataviaasch Nieuwsblad<\/em> menyebutnya sebagai sosok tertutup yang lebih memilih hidup menyendiri. Ia wafat pada 18 Juni 1920 di usia 72 tahun setelah operasi usus buntu yang berujung komplikasi gagal ginjal. Seiring waktu, Senayan tumbuh menjadi pusat bisnis, olahraga, dan politik Indonesia. Tak banyak yang menyadari bahwa kawasan yang kini bernilai ratusan juta rupiah per meter itu pernah dikuasai oleh satu orang asing selama puluhan tahun.<\/p>\n<p>Kisah J.M.L. Bohl seakan menjadi jejak sejarah tentang bagaimana Jakarta berkembang dari hamparan lahan pertanian menjadi kota metropolitan yang tak pernah tidur.
