Kedua panganan hasil olahan singkong tersebut merupakan makanan tradisional penduduk Gunung Kidul, Pacitan, Wonogiri dan Trenggalek. Daerah Gunung Kidul sendiri dikenal sebagai surganya gaplek.<\/p>\n<p>Singkong yang menjadi bahan baku tiwul pertama-tama dikeringkan terlebih dahulu dan menjadi gaplek. Kemudian gaplek dihaluskan hingga menjadi butiran mirip seperti tepung. Setelah menjadi butiran, tiwul dibersihkan kemudian dikukus.<\/p>\n<p>Uniknya, tiwul bisa dijadikan makanan asin maupun manis. Untuk olahan asin Anda bisa menyantap tiwul seperti nasi bersama urapan sayur, tempe goreng, ikan asin, sambal dan lauk lainnya.
