Konsumsi\u00a0makanan kemasan\u00a0alias\u00a0ultraproses\u00a0dalam jumlah tinggi, membuat seseorang lebih mungkin mengalami tekanan psikologis di kemudian hari. Menurut studi, efeknya bisa muncul lebih dari satu dekade kemudian.<\/p>\n<p>Hal itu diungkap dalam studi yang dipublikasikan dalam Journal of Affective Disorders. Indikator depresi di kemudian hari terlihat pada individu yang menyantap makanan ultraproses dalam jumlah banyak secara rutin.<\/p>\n<p>Dikutip dari laman\u00a0<em>PsyPost<\/em>, Selasa (22\/8\/2023), studi menganalisis data dari Melbourne Collaborative Cohort Study. Memang banyak faktor yang berkontribusi terhadap keparahan gejala depresi, tetapi para peneliti di studi ini fokus pada hubungannya dengan pola makan.<\/p>\n<p>Makanan ultraproses merupakan makanan yang diproduksi secara industri. Produk olahan itu lazimnya mengandung aditif, perasa buatan, dan gula, lemak, dan garam tingkat tinggi, namun nilai gizinya terbatas.<\/p>\n<p>Penulis studi Melissa M Lane dan rekan-rekannya mencari tahu apakah\u00a0konsumsi makanan ultraproses\u00a0antara usia 13-17 tahun terkait dengan depresi di kemudian hari. Para peneliti menganalisis data dari 23.299 peserta (13.876 di antaranya perempuan) berusia antara 27 dan 76 tahun.<\/p>\n<p>Informasi kebiasaan makan peserta pada usia belia didapat menggunakan kuesioner frekuensi makanan (121 item). Awal penelitian berlangsung antara 1990 dan 1994. Tim juga menghimpun data tentang kondisi psikologis peserta menggunakan Kessler Psychological Distress Scale.<\/p>\n<p>Kuesioner menanyakan kepada peserta tentang gejala seperti kelelahan, putus asa, gugup, sedih, dan perasaan tidak berharga. Begitu juga produk daging emulsi, makanan beku, dan makanan siap saji.<\/p>\n<p>Peserta dengan tingkat konsumsi makanan ultraproses tertinggi (25 persen asupan) memiliki kemungkinan 14 persen lebih besar mengalami tekanan psikologis di kemudian hari. Itu jika dibandingkan dengan peserta dengan asupan makanan ultraproses rendah.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Namun, hubungan ini terbukti hanya di antara peserta dengan konsumsi makanan ultraproses yang sangat tinggi, yaitu mereka yang berada di kuartil tertinggi,&#8221; ungkap Lane.<\/p>\n<p>Penelitian prospektif lebih lanjut (dengan data yang relevan di semua titik waktu), mekanistik, dan intervensi diperlukan untuk mengidentifikasi dengan lebih baik atribut berbahaya dari makanan ultraproses.
