Sukralosa merupakan salah satu jenis\u00a0pemanis\u00a0buatan yang sangat populer. Selain memiliki nol kalori, sukralosa juga 600 kali lebih manis dari gula.<\/p>\n<p>Zat kimia tersebut dikenal dengan nama\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>. Zat kimia ini sebenarnya bisa tercipta secara alami ketika\u00a0sukralosa\u00a0sedang dicerna di dalam usus. Saat proses pencernaan tersebut, bakteri usus dapat mengubah sukralosa menjadi senyawa\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Seperti dilansir laman\u00a0<em>Indian Express<\/em>, senyawa larut lemak ini bersifat genotoksik. Artinya,\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>\u00a0bisa memecah DNA.<\/p>\n<p>Menurut studi yang dilakukan tim peneliti dari North Carolina State University,\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>\u00a0juga ditemukan di dalam produk-produk sukralosa yang dijual bebas di pasaran. Hasilnya, tim peneliti menemukan bahwa satu porsi minuman berpemanis sukralosa memiliki kadar\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>\u00a0yang melebihi ambang batas harian.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Dan itu belum termasuk jumlah\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>\u00a0yang diproduksi sebagai metabolit saat orang-orang mengonsumsi sukralosa,&#8221;\u00a0kata salah satu peneliti dari North Carolina State University dan University of North Carolina, Susan Schiffman.<\/p>\n<p>Dalam studi yang dipublikasikan pada\u00a0<em>Journal of Toxicology and Environmental Health<\/em>\u00a0ini, tim peneliti turut melakukan beberapa percobaan\u00a0<em>in vitro<\/em>. Melalui percobaan ini, tim peneliti memaparkan sel darah manusia ke\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>. Setelah itu, tim peneliti melakukan pemantauan sambil mencari tanda genotoksisitas pada sampel.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kami menemukan bahwa\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>\u00a0genotoksik, dan zat kimia ini secara efektif memecah DNA dalam sel yang terpapar,&#8221; ujar Schiffman.<\/p>\n<p>Tim peneliti juga melakukan percobaan lain dengan memaparkan jaringan lapisan dinding usus pada\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>. Hasil dari percobaan ini mengindikasikan bahwa paparan\u00a0<em>sucralose-6-acetate<\/em>\u00a0bisa menyebabkan kebocoran usus. Peningkatan aktivitas ini berkaitan dengan stres oksidatif, peradangan, serta karsinogenitas.<\/p>\n<p>Temuan dalam studi terbaru ini mengindikasikan penggunaan sukralosa sebagai pemanis buatan membawa beberapa risiko yang signifikan. Berdasarkan temuan ini, Schiffman menilai perlu adanya peninjauan ulang terkait keamanan dan regulasi sukralosa.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Bila tak dilakukan, saya mengimbau orang-orang untuk menghindari produk yang mengandung sukralosa.
