Diabetes menjadi penyakit yang banyak menyerang dewasa muda saat ini. Penyakit diabetes dibagi menjadi dua, yaitu diabetes tipe 1 dan 2.<\/p>\n<p>Diabetes tipe 1 terjadi ketika sistem kekebalan tubuh menyerang sel-sel yang memproduksi insulin. Sementara itu, diabetes tipe 2 terjadi jika tubuh tidak cukup memproduksi insulin atau sel-sel tubuh tidak bereaksi terhadap insulin.<\/p>\n<p>Oleh karena itu, pengidap diabetes diminta untuk terus melakukan diet sehat dan seimbang. Salah satu buah yang sangat bermanfaat adalah okra.<\/p>\n<p>Terapis nutrisi Orley Kutner menjelaskan\u00a0okra\u00a0mengandung jenis serat khusus yang tidak larut dan dapat membantu menstabilkan glukosa darah. Buah ini secara tradisional telah digunakan sebagai pengobatan diabetes.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Studi klinis pada manusia terbaru menunjukkan hasil yang memuaskan,&#8221; kata Kutner, dikutip\u00a0<em>Express<\/em>, Kamis (9\/2\/2023).<\/p>\n<p>Kutner mengatakan okra bisa ditambahkan dalam sup atau kari. Anda juga bisa memotong dan merendamnya semalaman lalu minum airnya pada pagi hari. Namun, jika Anda sedang minum obat diabetes, sebaiknya tidak mencobanya.<\/p>\n<p>Okra juga populer di berbagai masakan termasuk Karibia, Kreol, Cajun, dan India. Meskipun secara teknis ini buah, okra sering muncul dan digunakan seperti sayur dalam masakan.<\/p>\n<p>Berbagai penelitian telah mempertimbangkan efek okra pada kadar gula darah. Satu kelompok diberi 10 gram bubuk okra dicampur menjadi 150 gr\u00a0 yoghurt dan yang lain hanya diberi 150 gr yoghurt. Penelitian tersebut menunjukkan konsumsi okra dapat meningkatkan profil lipid serta penanda glikemik di antara pasien diabetes tipe 2.<\/p>\n<p>Penelitian lain yang diterbitkan dalam jurnal yang sama pada 2022 membandingkan hasil dari dua kelompok yang terdiri dari 60 orang pengidap diabetes. Satu kelompok diberikan 1.000 mg kapsul okra secara oral setiap enam jam selama delapan pekan, sedangkan kelompok lain menerima kapsul plasebo dengan cara yang sama.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kadar\u00a0<em>fasting blood sugar<\/em>\u00a0(FBS) alias gula darah puasa, gula darah sewaktu, dan hemoglobin A1C (HgA1c) menurun secara signifikan pada kelompok okra dibandingkan dengan kelompok lain,&#8221; ungkap peneliti studi.<\/p>\n<p>Studi juga menemukan suplemen buah okra utuh memiliki efek antihiperglikemik yang menjanjikan bagi pengidap diabetes melitus tipe 2.
